Mt. Si — March 2007

Yesterday, Theo Kunlun, Maria, Christine, and I took the opportunity to hike up Mt. Si. Sure, it was raining but everyone was a trooper and we actually had a great time.

The top was pretty bitter cold with snow on the ground and wind-blown heavy rain, so we didn’t spend much time up there (and we didn’t even attempt the haystack). Nevertheless, despite being completely wet, we had a great sense of accomplishment at the bottom and despite the fact that we are sore, we know it was good for us.

My plan is to go on fairly regular hikes this spring and summer. Its just too much fun to not go :-D.

Isn’t it nice to just be able to hop on I-90 eastbound for a bit and find all kinds of cool trails at your disposal? I went on quite a few hikes last summer and even bought a couple books that point out the better ones. I’m hoping to go even more this summer, but we’ll see.

It’s absolutely one of the best treats of living in this area. Please let me know about any great hikes you find!
