Nope; This year, the entire amount was paid by money order. We’re slightly more organized this year in that capacity, even if we don’t have as much money.

I’m curious, when does this whole thing start to kick into high gear? I get back to the states in May… just wondering if I’m going to be too late to join in the festivities.

It begins January 8th at 7:00am Pacific Time. The chaos ends February 21 at 5:00pm, or perhaps a little earlier. Competitions are in March (Regional) and April (Championship, if we raise $5000). So, its all over by May, but… there’s still the ROV!

Sounds like you will be coming back too late for FIRST, but if you still want a robotics fix, MATE is holding their 1st annual PNW ROV competition in mid-may. I am hoping to get the kids excited enough to enter, but who knows…
