You going to pick one up in time for TIFF? Nikon just introduced some full frame bodies that sound absolutely killer, unfortunately they are rather pricey and won’t be out till November. Canon’s stuff says September release (which probably means end of September). I can’t afford a Nikon D3 ($5k, ouch). I could probably afford a Nikon D300 (DX sensor), which looks very nice with its much higher resolution screen, live preview and ccd cleaning, but frankly it is probably wasted on me too. I did end up finally picking up a 18-200 VR. I am finally seeing them at retail shops, so it looks like the shortage is over.
Highly unlikely that I will have one before TIFF. Probably I will get it (or perhaps the next in the Digital Rebel Series) sometimes around March-June of next year (read: near my UW graduation).

Scratch that. I think I’ll just go with the Rebel XTi and then spend the big bucks on something like a 5D or 1Ds when I want to go bigger.
