Primer, Again
After going for a run around Greenlake and feeling thoroughly gassed, Bobby and I watched Primer, one of my favorite movies of all time. Every time I watch it, I understand more and more. This visual timeline that Theo pointed me to certainly helped this time, but I also picked up on a lot of cues early in the movie that I didn’t notice the first three or four times through. Movies that can continue to produce newness after even a couple of viewings are rare; Primer in this regard is a true Gem.

Cues. Queue is for waiting in lines, cues are for dropping hints. Though I think they are pronounced the same, making them whatever that one word is for words that sound the same but are spelled differently.
And I’ve never seen Primer. You’ll have to introduce it to me sometime.

Thanks for the catch, Sticks.
And the word for that is “Homonym.”

I think the word wanted is “clues”. I think of “cue” as a signal given to someone — for example, the director cues the television newsman to start speaking.
A “clue” is a hint or a small portion of information. These are looked for by detectives and readers of mystery stories. Also, perhaps, watchers of Primer, which is a kind of mystery.
And “queue” and “clue” are not homonyms!
