TMNT & Namesake

Saw two movies this weekend — the new, animated, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (they appear to be no longer teenagers, they are now in their twenties), and then, this night, Namesake. I liked both, although as far as movies go they couldn’t really have been more different.

TMNT — 3.5/5 — Worth seeing if you like em for sure
Namesake — 3.5/5 — Much slower paced, not for everybody, but a good show

Mt. Si — March 2007

Yesterday, Theo Kunlun, Maria, Christine, and I took the opportunity to hike up Mt. Si. Sure, it was raining but everyone was a trooper and we actually had a great time.

The top was pretty bitter cold with snow on the ground and wind-blown heavy rain, so we didn’t spend much time up there (and we didn’t even attempt the haystack). Nevertheless, despite being completely wet, we had a great sense of accomplishment at the bottom and despite the fact that we are sore, we know it was good for us.

My plan is to go on fairly regular hikes this spring and summer. Its just too much fun to not go :-D.

Please Share: Wireless Carrier and Phone Suggestions

A little more than three years after getting my first cell phone, the time has come to re-evaluate phones and plans. Currently, my family shares a Cingular/AT&T/Cingular/AT&T/Whatever family plan. We have been fairly happy with it, but our phones are all starting to give up the ghost (my second phone to do so, really). Since we are under no contractual obligations, and thanks to the ability to keep our numbers wherever we go, we are open to the idea of changing carriers as well as phones.

Here are the criteria:

– I like flip-phones
– We have no camera or gadgetry requirements, they may even be minuses
– I like the possibility of getting internet via phone
– I might add more as I think of it…

From very early research, I’m leaning towards T-Mobile. Your input is appreciated!

On A Sunny Sunday

Yesterday I woke up surprisingly early considering a rather late night where I was only harassed by police once, so I went for a ride around Greenlake, then later down to the U-Village and back. After a truly fabulous dinner with the parents, I headed to IS for some basketball, then I wandered back home and proceeded to text message like crazy. I’m going to have to get some sort of messaging plan added, I think I’ve been using it too much recently.

In other news, today, I rode into work on a bike, after taking a bus across the lake.
